Malaysia’s most controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin had his statements recorded by Sentul police today over a statutory declaration he made regarding the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Police began recording Raja Petra’s statement at 5.15pm and he emerged to meet the press almost two-and-a-half hours later.

“The AG’s Chambers made a police report against me under Section 203 of the Penal Code for making a false declaration,” he said.

According to Raja Petra, the investigating officer appeared to be more interested in whether he had given permission to Malaysiakini and a blog site to publish the June 18 statutory declaration.

“I asked if the investigation is about the permission to publish the documents... they didn’t reply,” he said.

On June 18, Raja Petra affirmed a sworn statement that a reliable source had informed that three individuals, including Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor, were at the crime scene where Altantuya was murdered.
