Najib today said the picture of Anwar's former aide Saiful with his official Khairil Annas Jusoh at the deputy prime minister's office which was featured in numerous blogs, was taken three months ago when Saiful went to his office to seek a government scholarship.
If one looks at the answers given by Najib, the following begs even more questions:
1.Saiful dropped out of UNITEN sometime in 2007/08, why is he applying for scholarship only 3 months ago?
2.Saiful admitted after achieving a grade point average of 1.69 in three semesters, he decided to quit university. Why is he applying for scholarship to enter varsity again when he has quit?
3.Why is Saiful applying for scholarship in the Deputy Prime Minister office and not in the PSD office?
4.Why would such a senior officer in the DPM department bother to pose for a photograph with a young 23 year old, unimportant, new scholarship applicant?
5.Why important and busy ministers like Agriculture and Agro-based Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Tourism Minister Datuk Azalina Othman and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad and senior officers in the DPM department would take their precious time to pose photographs with Saiful if he is not a valuable person?
6.Surely having known Saiful is on the side of the opposition PKR, why would they even entertain him at all?
As the Chinese sayings goes, “to cover up a lie, it takes another 100 lies to cover up that lie”.

Firstly, I think the explanations about scholarships and all do sound a bit flakey, if the timing (3 months ago) of the photo is as Datuk Najib said. Also, this Saiful chap doesn't seem to be the sharpest of students based on his grades... I guess he had his minds on other things... like politics - if what he says on his own blog (reported in the papers) is to be believed.
However, I find it laughable how PKR and many (such as this blog) have their knickers in a twist over this Saiful person having photos with Cabinet Ministers.
Have you seen the picture in the 1 July Star (or was it NST)? His picture with Azalina is taken in some corridor with a bunch of other people (possibly students?).
Then there is a blog at http://audie61.wordpress.com/2008/06/30/truth-what-is-the-aimmalaysiakini/ that shows him in a picture with Datuk Mustapha Muhamad that was shown in Malaysiakini. But wait! This time, it is the full (uncropped) picture and it shows another person next to the Minister and it seems to be at some seminar or conference. The picture is a bit small but if you zoom, you cam see the backdrop and it says something about Higher Education.
This means it was probably taken before the General Elections (Mustapha was Minister of Higher Ed then). Also, why did PKR (who I believe released the picture) crop the original? To make it seem like a 'personal 1 on 1' foto? Puh-leez. Pot don't call the kettle black la.
Bottom line? Many people ask to take photos with VVIP's - if anything so they can show others that they've met the person (I guess that 'does it' for many).
Let's go back to Parliament and watch the MP's do their work... if PKR wants to rule the country - don't waste time and energy entertaining baseless allegations.
Do good work - people will support.

now Rosmah’s ass was happy

this Hindenburg nearly caught fire
yet to sue she has no desire.
But Najib's part in this murder
will travel much further;
despite his media actions
and one or two retractions,
some questions will remain
a big part of his bane–
how did Altantuya really die?
and why did he have to lie?
Did he pay off Bala savvily,
or threaten to C4 his family?
What acts could be more despised?
With his money, we’re not surprised;
after all, he's such a bully beast,
to him and him alone, at least,
magic words that cannot apply–
are useful for making rivals die.
