KOTA BAHARU, Feb 1 (Bernama) -- Pas today suggested that parliament be dissolved to pave the way for a fresh election.
Its vice-president Datuk Husam Musa said calling for a fresh polls would be a better option than introducing the anti-party hopping law.
He said it was pointless for Umno to introduce the provision just to stop its elected representatives from crossing over to the opposition.
"I agree in principle, but it is better to hold a fresh election to determine the people's support towards the BN," he told reporters at his office here.
He was responding to the suggestion that an anti-party hopping low be introduced to stop elected representatives from crossing over and to ensure political stability.
