Both DAP and Barisan Nasional MPs seemed to speak in unison in voicing complaints that the methods used by the Prime Minister's Department in reporting the country's household monthly income were inaccurate.

Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh (BN-Kalabakan) also agreed and cited that the high level of poverty in Sabah didn't reflect the true income levels for the country.
In reply, deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Department S.K. Devamany said the Government used internationally-accepted standards in its survey, adding that different approaches were used to detect the hardcore poor in the country.
