Banners, flags and billboards have been put up in Permatang Pauh as Barisan Nasional and PKR workers set the campaign tone ahead of the constituency’s by-election.
Although the by-election date has yet to be set, party supporters have started wooing voters through banners and billboards.
The four-storey white and blue Yayasan Aman building in Kubang Semang has become busy as it will be used by PKR as their operations centre.

Permatang Pauh PKR division secretary Muhamad Rodzi Abdul Hamid said renovations were being carried out to spruce up the 21-year-old building and not specifically for the by-election.
“Due to the recent developments, we have speeded up the renovations and it will be completed in three days time,” he said.
Muhamad Rodzi said the centre would start operations by next week.
PKR would also set up operations rooms at the constituency’s 28 polling centres.
Permatang Pauh Umno division chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Abdul Majid’s has been proposed by the division to contest the seat.
The decision to propose his name was made on Monday night.
Division committee member Adam Ahmad said the division would propose Abdul Jalil’s name to party president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Division information chief Zulkifli Bakar said the division had also discussed the setting up of several sub-committees for the by-election, including a security, information, operations centre, K-10, publicity and logistics committees during the meeting.
He said some 3,000 Barisan Nasional workers from Permatang Pauh would be involved in the by-election.
