MPs at work: Quit if you can't take it - NST

May 3, 2008 By : MOHD GHAZALI OSMAN, Ipoh

I WONDER whether Malay-sians have wasted their money, time and energy in going to the March 8 polls to elect such rowdy representatives to Parliament.

From what I saw on TV yesterday I am really ashamed and disgusted with our MPs. I don't care whether they are from the Barisan Nasional or from the Opposition. They all behaved appallingly and childishly.

What is disgusting about this is that some of the MPs are veterans. After having served in Parliament for at least two, if not three terms, they still have no inkling on how to behave.

I am calling on all MPs, whether from the BN or the Opposition, to remember who put them there and why. Don't waste the people's time and money arguing over trivial matters.

If you think you cannot cope with the responsibilities entrusted to you, resign and we will elect new representatives. The rakyat is prepared to go to the polls a hundred times until the right representatives are found who possess the right attitude.

Start earning your keep as the peoples' representatives and stop misbehaving

Is this the same Mohammad Ghazali Osman who left such a nice comment on my blog this morning? Are you from "KK"? If so, you said that I could contact you through your email, but you did not leave one. I would very much like to speak with you and exchange ideas. If you are not, but are an open-minded person who likes to talk about Malaysian politics, philosphy, and doesn't mind answering direct American-style questions, feel free to contact me anyway. leninmalaysia -at- gmail -dot- com
